The Poetry of
Joshua Gray

Urban Terrorism
Nomad's Choir, Volume XV, Issue 3, p.4

No time to meander where there's mutiny;
When buildings are razed rapidly.
Inner strength goes searching among
The rubble, for listlessness among the still-living.
Heroes beam angelically; pseudo saviors are abhorred.
They are the lot of dying lovers.

After the dreaded hour of destruction
The beer-drinking buffoons make small talk
At their symposium. Discussion of politics and pathos
Are as pure as their drinks. When they've finished
Their fortune-telling, they go home to their wives
For winter.
